NSW: Apple Picking 2014

One of the popular weekend activity in Australia is Fruit Picking. Different fruit for every month or season. In May, Apple is the popular one. Since I just arrived here this year (2014), why not experience it right? Hence, our decision to join the trend and schedule a trip to one of the apple orchards here in NSW. <the month of May is the end of Fall/Autumn season here> ^_^

After picking some apples, we decided to go to the Blue Mountain Botanic Garden since its just a short drive from the orchard. We had our picnic over there and saw the pretty colours for Fall (feeling endless love, Autumn in my heart! ^_^)

Pretty Flower that i saw on the cafe where we had our breakfast.

Breakfast before going to the orchard. Pies and hot chocolate :D

NSW: Royal Easter Show Sydney 2014

Every year, the Royal Easter Show is being held to exhibit some of Australia’s agriculture. It showcases some livestock and produce. There are also competitions being held where the different states send their participants. A fair and an amusement park are also organized for younger ones. Hundreds of show bag to choose from and food to try.

We went on a Saturday therefore we were able to watch the fireworks at the end of the show (fireworks are only on the weekends). Aside from this, another one of my favorite is the D-Max exhibition. It was really cool!

Note: Due to large number of pictures, I opted to make a video slide show for them.
Thanks for visiting my blog and till next time! ^_^

NSW: Visiting St. Mary's Cathedral

Posting a few pictures from my first visit  to St. Mary's Cathedral. No pictures of inside the cathedral because we're not allowed to take some and the guards are really strict about it (they actually follow you around!). ^_^
For info about the church you can go here.

Random thoughts 09.08.14

Just decided to try to write some of my thoughts right now. Trying to take them out of my system. Hoping that I’ll feel better and inspired after I have shared this.
  • I’ve been having a hard time writing lately. I don’t know why. Lack of inspiration maybe? Or just feeling stressed? Every time I open my computer and try to write something for my blogs, my mind just can’t organize the words that I wanted to say. There are lots of things that I want to write about, mainly about my life updates and some reviews. The only social media that I have and is updated is my lookbook.nu account.  I think this is because I don’t need to think about long statements for this site (even the title of my post are lacking creativity T_T).
  • I’ve been doing a lot of schoolwork for the past few months. Reading most of the time and writing reports for my subjects. Also been spending time in the public library because I find it hard to concentrate on my schoolwork when I just stay at home.
  • Another thing that I’ve been thinking about is my inability to find a job. I’ve done odd jobs here and there but no permanent job so far. Maybe this is also a reason for my stress? Need to earn money for next semester’s expenses.
  • Lastly, I’ve also been thinking about my family lately. Homesickness? I’ve been here in Sydney for 7 months now. Thank heavens for Facetime, imessage, Facebook, cellphone, laptop and other devices and software invented. Been talking to my sister most of the time and she updates me on what is happening back home.

Well that’s it for now. I’ll really (really) try to write those articles that have long been overdue. There ends my emo-post ^_^

NSW: Jamberoo Adventure!

Jamberoo is a Water theme park located in “1215 Jamberoo Road, Jamberoo NSW 2533”. For more information about the park you can visit their website (http://www.jamberoo.net). This action park was my first tourist destination here in Sydney. My cousin, with her friends, had planned to go here as an end of summer outing. Since I’ve just arrived in Sydney at that time, they decided to take me with them. The only thing that I can remember is that “It’s really cold!” (Even thought they said that its still summer). Hey! I grew up in a country where 20 degree is considered cold. I experience all the rides except the “Giant Mammoth River” and “Tantrum Alley” because the queue is really long and the park closes at 5:30 in the afternoon. If you want to ride them all, be sure to come at opening time! ^_^

Clothescheap.com Review

NOTE: I’m not new with this entire online shopping thing. I’ve had various transactions purchasing things like clothes, accessories, toys, collectibles and etc. However, for my transaction on this site, I needed to spend a few days to think things out. (this is not a sponsored post, I just decided to do one for this site) =D

Whenever I search for online shops who sells Asian Clothes, the website clothescheap.com always comes out as the number one result from the search engines. Being the ever-curious girl that I am, I decided to browse their site and see what they offer. Some of their clothes got my attention and I must admit that their price is really cheap. So after days of contemplating about it, I decided to order a few things to see how this site performs.

Price is a big factor for my decision. clothescheap.com offer their products at a very cheap price (as in REALLY CHEAP). You can buy dresses for as low as $4.50 and jackets at around $9.00.
Another thing that I like is that they offer LOTS of design for their clothes. These are the type of clothes that I always see whenever I watch Asian Shows. Cute dresses, comfortable T’s, Jeggings (Jeans+ Leggings) and really eye catching accessories.

The quality of the clothes is ok. I think it depends on what product you bought. It just so happens that so far, the things that I ordered really looked like what was on the pictures and description (I’ve watched some reviews in YouTube and read some online and was some kind of a mixed reaction. Some say their clothes is not that good and some says that they are great.).
Size was a little tricky. I understand that Asian were in a much smaller body structure that others. So I guest this is where the comments about “clothes being too small” came from? In my case, I needed to look at the measurement chart for every clothes that I wanted to buy because I didn’t want the trouble of experiencing “clothes too small or too big”.

Shipping fee was a little expensive. I really don’t understand their computation but I think it cost around $39 for a 3kg parcel (Oh! And I don’t know why but for some reason normal shipping is much more expensive than the Express Shipping one. Weird!). Because I opted for express shipping, shipping time is really short. It took around 4 working days for the parcel to be delivered at our doorstep.  Another thing that I experience was stock run out. I wanted a shirt and when I ordered and paid for it, it was still available, but the following day they sent me a message stating that that shirt is “out of stock” and that I should update my purchase list. They offered two choices, (1) choose another item or (2) have the money credited to my clothescheap account; which I can use for my next transaction (No Refund choice?). So I opted for the first choice.

So yah! That’s my over-all experience for ordering on clothescheap.com. I’ll be posting some pictures to show some of the things that I ordered. Till next time! Ciou! ^_^

How it started (for me): Investing in Stocks?

Note: Hi All! I just thought of sharing my experience in Investing in the Philippine Stock Market. I am not a big time investor and I don’t have a formal education on Stocks investing (Just my own experience and basic knowledge from my bachelors degree ^_^).

I have always been interested in investing in the stock market. I imagine buying stocks in different companies and being Part owner of that company. However, I was only in my secondary education at that time so everything that I planned was only in my mind.

As I started my Bachelors Degree in College, I’ve learned some of the basics of investing. Interest earnings, future values, mutual funds, bonds, money market and etc. Unfortunately, whenever I research about investing, it always comes up that I would need to have a large sum of money to start investing. Hey! I’m only in college and only survived thru my allowance, where would I get a hundred thousand? So again, plans in my imagination.

After graduating from college, a friend of mine told me about investing in the stock market with a small starting capital. It picked my interest and I started researching about it. I was thinking, “Will this be my way in achieving one of my dreams?”. I found out about a company that has an online platform for trading stock and they offer an Easy Investment Plan (EIP) that starts from P5,000. And I was like, “It looks legit and the starting is only around P5000” “It was being advertised by Bo Sanchez and I really love his books” “why not try right?” So, I went thru with the documents needed, submitted the requirements and a month later I have my own EIP account. =D

BTW the stockbroker that I’m talking about is COL Financial Philippines . The thing that I love the most about this company is that they have a Daily Investment Guide that can help investors decide on which stocks to buy. I used this to know the Buy Below price for a certain stocks and the Fair Value of those stocks. Those two values were the ones that I considered at the beginning of my investment.

That’s how I started investing in the stock market and so far, I like how things are turning up. ^_^

(A shout-out to my friend, advisor and everyday chat-mate ROAN! Thanks for always being there for me. ^_^)
