NSW: Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds is one of the tourist destination that you can visit in Sydney CBD. It has 70 life-size wax figure of the most well known/popular personalities in the world. If you have a Merlin Annual Pass, you can have unlimited access to 11 attractions in Australia and New Zealand. If you live around the area, I think it's worth the price. I happen to have one (just because I love going to Sydney tower eye and Sydney Aquarium when I feel emo). As for my cousin and niece, we bought a group entry pass which includes Madame Tussauds, Sydney Wildlife, Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Tower eye and Manly Aquarium.

Warning: Picture intensive post. I can't decide which picture to put. I already sorted them out but still ended with a lot.

VIC: Last Day in Melbourne

Our last day in Melbourne was spent for last minute roaming around the city and shopping. Luckily, the flight back to Sydney is still at 8 pm. Therefore we still have time to spare. The first place that we visited was this giant Christmas Tree located in the middle of the city (sorry forgot the name of the place).  There were a lot of children playing around the area.

Another Tourist Destination advised on our guidebook was the "Shine of Remembrance" and the "Royal Botanic Gardens". Visiting these two is very convenient because they were located in the same area and can be reached thru their local tram.

Lee Min Ho Autograph Signing

#GlobalBenchsetter

Accompanying post for Lee Min Ho's Fan-meet.

We were supposed to be seated on the Lower-box area of the coliseum. Unfortunately, I think Bench miscalculated the seating capacity and distributed too much invites. This resulted on a first-come-first-serve basis. In the end, we were given seats on the Upper-box area. As a way of saying sorry, the company distributed free tickets to Lee Min Ho's autograph signing the following day. "Happy Kids" for another chance to see our Korean Idol in person again! ^_^

Designated driver for the day. Traffic!

Lee Min Ho Benchsetter Fun Meet

This is not Anime related but I'm still putting it under this label just because I don't know where else to put it... <peace>

"Bench" a local clothing line from the Philippines had started its venture overseas. As part of their promotion, they have been employing known artist as their advertisers. From the cast of The Vampire Diaries to Korean artist.

One of their models was the Korean Actor Lee Min Ho. Being the Korean obsessed fan that we are, we didn't want to miss this opportunity. The invites were only being given to those who purchase a certain amount of Bench Products.

Around the month of the event, I was so busy with work that I can't think of ways on how I can secure those Invites. Luckily, my sister was able to go mall hopping after her class from the university. My other friends (HS friends) were able to secure invites in the Lower box area of the coliseum. We wanted to join them but all we could find were VIP invites. Finally, after 4 mall and 30 mins of shopping spree on Bench Trinoma branch, my sister was able to secure 3 lower box invite.

4 mall - my sister inquired at the register first if they still have 3 lower box invites available
30 mins - because my sister arrived in the mall 30 mins before closing time
3 invites - because we needed an extra ticket for our older cousin who is also our chaperone

VIC: St. Patrick's Cathedral and Playing in the Park

We were not able to arrive on time for the free tour inside the Parliament House in Melbourn. While deciding where to go next, we passed by this park. Liking the "shower-y fountain" (I don't know what its called) that we saw, we decided to take a few pictures! ^_^

Casual Suit

One thing that I like about Korean drama is that they are always so fashionable! Shorts paired with a coat, match it with high heels; dresses with boots or runners and etc. Nowadays, online shops that offer Korean fashion are becoming popular. My sister, Clare, and I had been a few of their avid fans/supporter. This particular pairing was purchased by my sister (I snicked it for a photoshoot. =p)

VIC: Queen Victoria Market and Parliament House

According to the tourist handbook (you can get in Melbourn Airport), Queen Victoria Market is one of the must-see destinations. Being tourists, we followed the handbooks suggestion and decided to include it on out itinerary. We went in the morning and had our breakfast there.

The place where we bought our breakfast. I didn't get the name of the store. We had the typical Aussie breakfast with sausage, bacon, egg, toast and caramelized onions. I think it cost around $15 for the two of us.

Anime with "Online Gaming" theme

A few years ago, I've been obsessed with anime with online gaming as its theme. Hey! It's a combination of two of my most favorite things (Anime + Online games). ^_^

Here are some that I've watched.

.Hack//sign

This was aired around my high school days. I remember tuning-in to animax to be able to watch this. Unfortunately, I got bored with the story that I wasn't able to watch til the last episode. I also became so busy that I always miss the episode in Animax. (T_T) I'll try to watch it again when I have time. =D

Sword Art Online (SAO)

OMG! I went gaga over Kirito-kun when I first watched this. He's actually the main reason why I decided to watch. lol. ^_^ I so love his character! After watching season 1, I found out that it was originally from a light novel. Luckily I found a site where I can download them. Happiest kid while downloading the ebooks.

btw: I watched all the seasons and finished the light novels! talk about obsession men.. *_*

No Game, No Life

I watched this anime because this was the time where I was having "SAO withdrawal syndrome". I was searching the net for any anime with the same theme and my sister recommended this anime. I'm not really into the story line but the characters were actually funny, that's why I decided to finish watching it. I'm just not satisfied with the ending. I'm still hoping that there will be a season 2. note: I haven't read the manga so I can't really give a comparison.

Log Horizon

I just watched this anime recently. I even watched season 2 coz I loved it so much! It's the closest anime relating to my favorite online game (Ragnarok Online). ^_^ I'm hoping there will be a season 3. There are still a lot of unanswered questions. I also like how the characters interact. There's not much of a love story here, but there are a few hints of harem and love triangles. I'm mostly interested on Shiroe and his relation to Roe 2. I'll be waiting for season 3. ^_^

For synopsis or summary of the animes you can click the links above. I'll also put the link of the website where I watch anime. It's a free site and I've been watching here for a while now.

VIC: Roaming Around Melbourne CBD

Because I'm known for always posting late, I will now start posting the events last December 2014 <trows confetti and clapping =p>

My cousin Haydn and I had a short vacation in Melbourne, Victoria. We were there for 3 days. One of Ate Haydn's friend from Singapore is now living in Melbourne. We stayed at her flat for accommodation (yehey! free place to stay) and she even toured us around the city on our first day. Thanks Ate Mye for letting us stay at your place and for the free dinner! =D

BTW: We used the local light rail or tram to travel around the city. We bought a "Myke card" from a convenient store. It costs $7 for unlimited ride within a day. It's much cheaper than the $15 cap for Opal in Sydney.

(Ate Haydn, Ate Mye) #haydntravels

 Town Hall.
There happen to be a light show in the evening for the whole December. I took this picture in the afternoon and we decided to return in the evening for the show. I still haven't found the evening pictures. Will post them later on once I find them. =p

Airlines: Tiger Airways

My first international travel destination was Singapore around the year 2010. My cousin, Ate Haydn, had just started working in Singapore then. As a summer outing, we (my siblings and mom) decided to visit her for a few days and see the "beauty of Singapore". Being a budget summer get-away, we booked a budget airlines. During that time, Tiger Airways offers the cheapest round trip ticket from Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) in Clark to Singapore. I think our round trip fare is around Php 4,000 each.

Being a budget airlines, we didn't set a high expectation.

Booking  - we booked our flight using their website. The transaction amount is only in USD at that time and the only option for payment  is thru credit card. We used my Aunt's credit card for booking because she has higher credit limit (=p). We were informed to bring a photocopy of the used credit card in case they verify the purchase during check-in. However, they didn't ask for credit card verification.

Check in -  we arrived 3 hrs before the flight. There were a lot of passengers (I think it was a full flight) so we expected that it will take a while before our turn comes. If you have been to DMIA, you know that there are only a few check-in counter. If I remember correctly, there was only I counter allotted for Tiger Airways. However, we didn't wait too long at all. I think only around 30 mins. The lady at the check-in counter is also very kind.

Flight - we encounter a few air turbulence due to bad weather. It was raining really hard before take-off. I thought our flight will be delayed or canceled. Good thing that it stopped raining 30 mins before take-off. During the flight, the captain gave timely update about the weather in SG and the status of our flight.

A funny thing that happened is that we had to wait in the departure gate for the bus to come and take us to the plane (fyi: DMIA has no 2nd floor before), we waited for 10 mins on the gate (we can't see outside because the walls were not made of glass unlike NAIA), rode the bus and realised that, had we walked going to the plane, we'll only be walking for about 3 mins. lol.

Food - because this is a budget airlines, food is not included on the airfare. However, you can pre-purchase it online during booking. They also sell some light snacks and drinks on the flight. Just make sure that you have enough cash to pay for it. They accept PHP and SGD as their mode of payment.

Take-off and Landing - Despite the bad weather, we had a smooth take-off. I didn't even feel the difference if not for the fact that I saw the plane lift from the runway. (or was I just too excited for the trip?! lol).

conclusion: I enjoyed my first international flight with Tiger Airways. ^_^

Note: I found this post rotting on my draft since 2012. T_T

Regular Blog Update

Maybe you have noticed that I've been updating my blog regularly now. That is because I have now discover the use of "Schedule" post. I know it's been in blogger function. It's just that I never bother to learn how to use it. Whenever something happens and I want to put it on my blog, I always get the "K-tamaran sickness". Most times, I already wrote it and it's just waiting on my blog as a draft. Result? Super late post for me. Lol. ^_^

Now, I'm catching up with all my backlogs by writing about them whenever I have the time and setting the schedule to be posted once or twice a week.

My cousin from Singapore went to visit Oz last December. As part of her itinerary, we decided to go see the Sea Cliff Bridge, Nan Tien Temple and Wollongong Light house. We ask kuya gerry to drive us there.

Wollongong is about 2 hrs drive from our suburb.
