VIC: Last Day in Melbourne

Our last day in Melbourne was spent for last minute roaming around the city and shopping. Luckily, the flight back to Sydney is still at 8 pm. Therefore we still have time to spare. The first place that we visited was this giant Christmas Tree located in the middle of the city (sorry forgot the name of the place).  There were a lot of children playing around the area.

VIC: Shrine of Remembrance and Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne

Another Tourist Destination advised on our guidebook was the "Shine of Remembrance" and the "Royal Botanic Gardens". Visiting these two is very convenient because they were located in the same area and can be reached thru their local tram.

VIC: St. Patrick's Cathedral and Playing in the Park

We were not able to arrive on time for the free tour inside the Parliament House in Melbourn. While deciding where to go next, we passed by this park. Liking the "shower-y fountain" (I don't know what its called) that we saw, we decided to take a few pictures! ^_^

VIC: Queen Victoria Market and Parliament House

According to the tourist handbook (you can get in Melbourn Airport), Queen Victoria Market is one of the must-see destinations. Being tourists, we followed the handbooks suggestion and decided to include it on out itinerary. We went in the morning and had our breakfast there.

The place where we bought our breakfast. I didn't get the name of the store. We had the typical Aussie breakfast with sausage, bacon, egg, toast and caramelized onions. I think it cost around $15 for the two of us.

VIC: Roaming Around Melbourne CBD

Because I'm known for always posting late, I will now start posting the events last December 2014 <trows confetti and clapping =p>

My cousin Haydn and I had a short vacation in Melbourne, Victoria. We were there for 3 days. One of Ate Haydn's friend from Singapore is now living in Melbourne. We stayed at her flat for accommodation (yehey! free place to stay) and she even toured us around the city on our first day. Thanks Ate Mye for letting us stay at your place and for the free dinner! =D

BTW: We used the local light rail or tram to travel around the city. We bought a "Myke card" from a convenient store. It costs $7 for unlimited ride within a day. It's much cheaper than the $15 cap for Opal in Sydney.

 Town Hall.
There happen to be a light show in the evening for the whole December. I took this picture in the afternoon and we decided to return in the evening for the show. I still haven't found the evening pictures. Will post them later on once I find them. =p
